The audience for the movie ' The girl with the dragon tattoo ' is predominantly females aged over 20, who are also casual consumers of small games and mini puzzles.
What went well with the marketing campaign ?
There were various elements of the campaign that went well, one of which was using their digital innovation award on using social media platforms to campaign their markets such as launching their trailer on Yahoo allowing them to achieve 65,000 trailer views and cause a huge hype which triggered a large amount of goggle searches to take place.
Even better if/ what did not work ?
They launched a competition for the biggest ' super-fan' of the movie where the user who shared the most content to the most people got the chance to win their own pre-release private screening of the movie. But this eventually backfired on them as a pre-paid screening provided to be too much effort for the audience, causing to to generate a fail in interest.

Within this their reaching out to their target audience through this poster which is seen by the main female protagonist with the golden shoot of the photo placement their for establishing that she is the main focus and therefore the story revolves around her.
